Meet Your Hosts
Eugenia Merkoulov

Eugenia interweaves a variety of holistic modalities, including yoga and traditional herbalism, with the intention of helping individuals connect with their Inner Light so that they may live in alignment with their highest expression. Student long before teacher, she combines her understanding of yogic philosophy and practice with that of her roots as an herbalist and traditional healer. Eugenia's passion and purpose is to facilitate sacred healing experiences that allow individuals to release, realign, step into empowerment, and embrace the beauty and adventure of life with an open heart. In conscious co-creation with the healing energies of the island of St. Croix, Eugenia is honored to guide retreat participants in yoga, meditation, and holistic workshops. 

Bale Shabaka Kaza Amlak

Master Ayurvedic Chef Bale Amlak was raised on the island of St. Croix. He spent years cultivating a direct relationship with the land's bounty as a sustainable farmer and operating a wellness center on the island. He is now based out of New York City and offers his services as private Ayurvedic chef to holistic wellness retreats worldwide. Bale found his passion in Ayurvedic cooking, noting its successful approach to achieving constitutional balance in the body as a key to sustainable health and wellness. He enjoys sharing recipes and inspiring others to utilize an Ayurvedic approach to nourishment as a delicious and effective way to detox the whole body and boost immunity. 

Tahirah AbuBakr

Shamanic Priestess Iya Tahirah describes herself as mother, grandmother, and spirit weaver. An Initiated Yoruba Priestess, Tahirah has walked the medicine path for many decades. She combines her spiritual wisdom with her background in anthropology, cross cultural studies, and psychology to offer a truly holistic experience of self discovery through her work with others. Tahirah will be guiding the opening ceremony and group healing circle and will be available for private sessions throughout the week.
